Feast of Trumpets : Rosh Hashanah : Yom Teruah 2007

Celebration in Jerusalem

“In the seventh month on the first of the month, you shall have a Sabbath rest, a reminder by blowing of Trumpets, a holy convocation” Leviticus 23 : 24-25.

The evening of September 12th in the Prayer Tower was dedicated to the celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the Hebrew head of the civil year 5768 as the Hebrew calendar begins a new year. The Feast of Trumpets is also called Yom Teruah the day of blowing of Shofars.

The coming 21 days usher in the Fall Feasts. Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles reflecting prophetically the unfolding drama of preparations for the coming of the Kingdom of God.

Our gathering in the Prayer Tower comprised of worshipers from six different nations along with Israelis. As the sun set over Jerusalem the siren sounded over the city ushering in the New Year. With the siren wailing we added the sounds of Trumpets and Shofars from the balcony of the Prayer Tower releasing the joyful shout that “the King of Israel, The Lord is in your midst” Zephaniah 3:14-17

Teruah means , shouted for joy. The walls of Jericho fell at the sound of the Teruah (shout of the people). Teruah (shout) “O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold your King is coming” Zachariah 9:9

One day John writes in Revelation 11:15 “the seventh angel sounded his trumpet and there were loud voices in heaven, saying ‘The kingdoms of the world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever” Revelation 11:15.

The shout of the Lord and celebration in worship with the presence of the King in our midst caused a shift in the heavenlies and released an enthronement of the King of Kings to take His rightful place this year in Israel and the Nations.

May the Teruah (shout ) of the Lord be in your spirits this year and the sweetness of His presence fill your lives.
